WHERE ARE WE ?
THE 3 VALLEYS
The resort of Courchevel itself is made up of 5 villages along the valley;
Courchevel La Praz (1300),
Courchevel Village (1550),
Courchevel La Tania,
Courchevel Moriond (1650)
Courchevel (1850).
The resort is within the famous 3 valleys ski area which is the
largest linked ski area in the world.
Our apartment 'Flocon de Neige' is situated on the third floor, below the penthouse, in the managed residence of the ‘Domaine de la Ariondaz’, which is located at the 'far end' of the town of Moriond (Courchevel 1650), the 2nd highest resort (after 1850), with spectacular views down the valley below.
The apartment is around a few minutes walk to the main town, bars and shops, and is a 5 minute bus ride up the mountain away from Courchevel 1850. Our apartment comes with the practicality of a ski/boot locker room with the bonus of ski in/out, via the free gondola 'Petit Moriond' (about a one minute slide/walk outside the boot room door). This goes directly to the ski front and the Ariondaz high speed chair (via a short linked piste) in 1650. Return to the ski locker door at the end of the day via the blue Cepes piste and take the lift back up to the apartment from the boot room.
The apartment is very conveniently situated for exploring the enormous 3 valleys ski area. You are able to access the resorts of Meribel, Val Thorens, St Martin and Les Menuires, and Orelle (the 4th valley). Obviously the mountains and valleys can be accessed via the largest network of lifts and perfectly groomed linked pistes in the world (current prices for ski passes can be found HERE). But should you wish to venture outside of 1650 without using the slopes, then there is a bus stop right outside the apartment with a regular (3-4 per hour) free ski bus service which serve the 5 resorts of Courchevel and run very late into the night, should you be planning an evening in one of the other villages.
If you visit by car there is a large, free car park immediately in front of the building, and an overflow car park especially for residents of the ‘Ariondaz’.
The apartment building is served by a lift which opens right outside the door to the apartment and also takes you down to the ski locker room and back door out onto the snowy path down to the, free, Petit Moriond gondola lift.
