You will never be short of places to hire ski equipment from in Courchevel 1650, with at least 8 different shops on the main roads and a new, convenient rental shop in front of the Domaine de L'Ariondaz. However, if you like to plan ahead there are a couple of online sites, like Intersport and Skiset, who offer discounts for booking in advance, but we think you'll find the going rate in the resort is about the same wherever you go. Expect to pay around €15-€25 a day for ski hire for basic needs and more if you want specialist skis or boarding gear.

The excellent 'Unplugged Courchevel' site has added a list of all ski hire shops in the resort close to 'Flocon de Neige', so please click on their link below:

Ski / Snowboarding Lessons

To be honest, we have only really used New Generation for lessons and they are excellent. They are based in the town and all instructors speak English & French. They are very popular (especially in peak weeks) so you would be well advised to book lessons in advance of your visit. Some guests have been happy with their group lessons through ESF (Ecole Ski Francais) based in 1650. Rates vary considerably but you should expect to pay around £120 an hour for a private 1:1 lesson or £300 a week for group lessons each day. Be aware that you will still also have to buy a ski pass for these lessons.
